How much do UGC video ads cost? Agency, freelancer and AI compared
A single UGC-style video costs from about $99 on a marketplace to $1,000 or more from an established creator, while AI tools start around $12 to $50 a month and managed agency programmes start around $1,300 to $2,000 a month. The right comparison is cost per month of tested creative, not cost per file. Prices below come from the providers' own pages, checked in October 2026.
The short answer
There are four ways to buy UGC-style video ads, and they price in different units. Freelancers and marketplaces charge per video. AI tools charge a monthly subscription for credits. Marketplace subscriptions charge a platform fee on top of creator pay. Agencies charge a monthly retainer.
That is why a headline number rarely compares like for like. A $99 video and a $1,300 monthly plan are not the same product. The first is one file. The second is a stream of new creative plus the ad account work around it. Read the unit before you read the number.
Everything below is a published list price or a stated range, with the source and date. Prices change often, so treat these as a starting point and ask each provider for a current quote.
What freelancers and creators charge
JoinBrands, in its UGC rate guide published 15 August 2026, gives per-piece ranges by experience: beginners $150 to $400, intermediate creators $400 to $1,000, and established creators $1,000 to $3,000 or more. Treat these as one vendor's view of the market, not a rate card.
Creators who price per video usually include one or two rounds of revisions. The same guide puts extra revision rounds at $50 to $200 each. The base price also usually covers organic use only, which is where many first-time buyers get caught out (see the cost drivers below).
Going direct to a freelancer can be the cheapest route for a single hero video from a person who really uses your product. It costs more management time: briefing, chasing, checking rights and re-briefing when a hook fails.
What marketplaces charge
Billo states that videos start at $99 each and that final price depends on length, format, creator type and extras such as additional hooks. It lists a managed service from $2,000 a month and a tool plan from $149 a month. Billo's own page, published 9 October 2026, says prices are as of October 2026 and the full price list sits inside the platform.
Insense runs a subscription model. Its pricing page lists a Brand plan from $500 a month billed quarterly and an Agency plan from $800 a month billed quarterly, with a marketplace fee of 10% and 7% on creator payments respectively. Creator payments are not included in any plan and need their own budget. Plans renew every three months.
Marketplaces are good at speed and choice. The trade-off is that you still brief, review and run the ads yourself, and the headline price rarely includes the extras you will want.
What AI UGC tools charge
AI tools sell credits. Creatify's pricing page lists Standard at $12 a month, Pro at $44 and Max at $76 on what looks like annual billing, with 55, 280 and 730 credits a month. It also lists a managed studio service where pricing needs a demo. HeyGen's pricing page lists Creator at $29 a month and Pro at $49 a month.
These are software prices. You supply the script, the offer, the editing judgement and the ad account work. The cheapest route on paper becomes expensive if the output needs heavy fixing or if platform rules require labelling you did not plan for (covered in the comparison guide).

Side-by-side comparison
| Option | What the price buys | Published starting price | Source |

| Our plans | Managed creative plus ad management | From $1,300/month, fixed fee agreed before starting | Pricing |
Our plans sit at the managed end. We are not the cheapest route to one video. We are a fixed monthly fee for fresh video ad creative, plus the account work that tests it. Ad spend is paid to the platform directly and is not included.
The cost drivers that move the bill
- Usage rights. The base fee often covers organic posting only. JoinBrands lists expanded paid-channel usage at +25% to 40%, commercial use at +20% to 50% and unlimited perpetual usage at +50% to 100%. Ask whether paid ad use is in the price.
- Revisions. One or two rounds are normal. Beyond that, JoinBrands cites $50 to $200 per extra round, or $300 to $500 for unlimited revisions.
- Rush. A 48-hour turnaround instead of five to seven days adds 25% to 50%, according to the same guide.
- Volume and variations. Testing needs several hooks per idea. Billo prices extra hooks as add-ons, so a test of ten variations costs more than ten times a single file would suggest.
- Exclusivity. Blocking a creator from working with your competitors adds cost and is easy to forget.
With our plans, the client owns every video and the ad account. There are no separate usage-rights fees to negotiate, because we are not licensing a creator's face.
Which price is right for you
Compare cost per month of tested creative that you actually run, not cost per file. A cheap video that you do not have time to brief, edit, launch and read is a poor deal. An expensive retainer you cannot use is worse.
- If you need one or two videos and have time to manage them, a freelancer or marketplace is often the fairest price.
- If you have a strong in-house marketer and need cheap drafts, an AI tool may be enough.
- If you want new creative every month and someone running the account, a managed plan is the better comparison. Starter is from $1,300 a month and Full service, our recommendation, is from $3,900 a month.

Questions
How much does one UGC video ad cost?
Published figures range widely. Billo lists videos from $99 as of October 2026, while JoinBrands puts established creators at $1,000 to $3,000 or more per piece. Length, hooks, rights and rush delivery change the final number.
Is AI UGC cheaper than hiring creators?
Per file, usually yes. Creatify lists plans from $12 a month and HeyGen from $29 a month. You still pay in time for scripting, editing, launching and platform labelling, so compare the total workload as well as the subscription.
Do I have to pay extra to run a UGC video as an ad?
Often yes with individual creators. JoinBrands lists commercial or paid-ad use at +20% to 50% and expanded multi-channel usage at +25% to 40%. Always confirm paid usage rights in writing before you sign.
Does your monthly fee include ad spend?
No. Ad spend is paid to the platform directly. Our fee covers the creative and the account work, agreed as a fixed monthly amount before we start.
