Ramadan 2027 video ad plan for UAE brands: what to make and when to start
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin in the UAE on Monday 8 February, with Eid al-Fitr on 9 or 10 March, based on projections reported by The National in September 2026. To be ready, brief your video ads by early December, have them finished by mid-January and live a week before the first fast. Plan for viewing that moves into the evening and late night, and make a separate set of ads for the last ten days and Eid.
The expected dates for Ramadan 2027
The National reported in September 2026 that the UAE's Astronomy Centre projects Ramadan 2027 to begin on 8 February 2027 and last 29 or 30 days. Eid al-Fitr is expected on 9 or 10 March 2027. These are projections. The official start depends on the moon sighting, which is announced the evening before.
For planning, that uncertainty is one day either side. It matters for scheduling posts and switching ad sets, so build a one-day buffer into anything date-specific, such as an "Eid offer starts today" ad. It does not change when you need to start production.
| Milestone | Expected date | What it means for your ads |
|---|---|---|
| First day of Ramadan | Monday 8 February 2027 | Ramadan ads live from about 1 February |
| Last ten nights begin | Around 28 February 2027 | Switch to gifting and Eid offers |
| Eid al-Fitr | 9 or 10 March 2027 | Eid greetings and offers, scheduled both ways |
When to start: a working timeline
Most Ramadan campaigns that feel rushed were started in January. Video needs time for scripting, review and a round of changes, and year-end holidays eat into December. Work back from the first fast:
- Early December 2026: brief. Decide the offer, the audience and the message for each phase of the month. Our guide on briefing a video ad covers what to include.
- Mid to late December: scripts and first cuts. Get scripts approved before the holidays, so January is for editing and fixes.
- Mid-January 2027: finished ads. Every Ramadan ad, the last-ten-days set and the Eid set should be signed off and uploaded to the ad account as drafts.
- Late January: test. Run a small budget behind your two or three strongest hooks so you know which to scale when the month starts.
- Around 1 February: pre-Ramadan ads live. Preparation messages work in the week before the first fast.
If you are reading this later than December, cut the number of ads and keep the dates. Four good ads ready on time beat twelve that land halfway through the month.
How Ramadan changes viewing in the UAE
Daily routines shift around the fast, iftar and the late evening, and screen time follows. YouGov's Ramadan 2026 consumer insights, published 3 February 2026, found that 45% of UAE respondents named 7pm to 10pm as their main TV viewing window during Ramadan, and 28% named 10pm to 2am.
Short-form video moves the same way. Gulf News, reporting YouGov data in January 2026, said 37% of UAE residents typically use TikTok between 7pm and 10pm during Ramadan. The same article cited mobile data firm MEmob as saying 24% of engagement now happens between 2am and 4am, before suhoor.
Two practical points follow. First, check your ad delivery by hour during the month and compare it with your results by hour. If most spend goes out in the afternoon while orders and enquiries come in after iftar, adjust. Second, the enquiries that arrive at midnight still need a fast reply. A clinic or service business that only answers in the morning loses the people who asked at night. That is what lead management is for.
What to make for each phase of the month
One Ramadan ad running for 30 days will tire quickly, and the mood of the month changes. Plan a small set for each phase:
| Phase | Roughly when | What the ads should do |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation | Last week of January | Help people get ready: stock up, book early, plan the month |
| First weeks | 8 to 27 February | Calm, useful, family-centred messages; offers that fit iftar and evening routines |
| Last ten days | From about 28 February | Gifting, Eid outfits and treats, booking before the holiday |
| Eid | 9 or 10 March onward | Greetings, Eid offers, short post-Eid follow-up |
For each phase, make two or three versions with different hooks so you can replace the one that fades. Our guide to spotting creative fatigue explains the signs to watch.
What tends to land, and what to avoid
YouGov asked what makes Ramadan advertising feel authentic. UAE respondents put local culture and special offers at the top, both at 27%, then charitable or sustainable action at 25% and family stories at 24%. No single theme dominates, so a useful offer told with respect for the month is a sound starting point.
- Lead with something useful. A clear offer, a time saved or a booking made easy works better than a generic greeting with a logo.
- Respect the fast. Think about when you show eating and drinking, and consider scheduling food-heavy ads for after iftar.
- Keep it modest. Dress, music and tone should fit the month. Loud, fast-cut ads made for a summer sale usually feel wrong.
- Say what you will actually do. If you mention giving, name the cause and the amount, and make sure it happens.
- Design for sound off and sound on. Captions carry the message whether or not the sound is on.
Running the ads during the month
Ramadan is a busy month for advertising, so watch cost per result closely and change one thing at a time. A few checks help:
- Upload every phase's ads in advance and schedule the switch, so a new set goes live on the right night without someone working late.
- Keep your strongest pre-Ramadan ad running as a control, so you can tell a market-wide cost rise from a weak new ad.
- Watch results by hour of the day in the first week and move budget towards the hours that bring orders or enquiries.
- Prepare Eid ads for both possible dates and switch on the right one when the moon sighting is announced.
If results drop, check the page and the follow-up before blaming the ad. Our guide on whether it is the ad or the funnel walks through the order.
How we would plan it
We make video ads with AI video tools, finished by human editors. Presenter and UGC-style ads use AI-generated presenters, not hired creators or real customers, and we follow each platform's rules on labelling AI-generated content. That shortens production time, which helps when a Ramadan plan starts late, but the timeline above still applies: the slow part is agreeing the offer and the message.
For a UAE brand, the work would follow our usual first month: diagnose the account, page and follow-up; build the ads for each phase; launch in your own ad account on Meta, TikTok, Google or YouTube; then read results and replace what fades. Plans start at $1,500 a month, with a three-month start and then month to month. See pricing, our page for UAE businesses, or book a free strategy call to plan Ramadan 2027 together.
